I first travelled abroad aged 5 and there started my love affair with travel, cultures and adventures.   Aged 19 I packed up and moved abroad, since then I have lived in 6 countries and visited 40.

I have a deep love of the sea and community spirit so I am often drawn to islands – to date I’ve visited 29.  I find it fascinating to sit and watch the way a small community works, many of which I’ve been fortunate enough to be welcomed into.

Along the way I’ve travelled for pleasure and work, alone, with friends and boyfriends.  I have been sunburned, fallen in love, eaten great food, ended up in hospital, made lifelong friends, been in some dangerous situations, laughed, found confidence and most importantly, found myself.  I wouldn’t change a second of it!

Aged 25 I swapped living abroad and a job on a beach in the Caribbean for a career in an office on an industrial estate in the UK.   Turning 40 I found myself with a career, a nice salary and a deep fatigue of office politics.  Today, I am a corporate drop-out pursuing a career in writing, sailing and travel.

Travel blogs are defined by demographics, and mine would be 40 something, female, single and child-free, each of those characteristics is often viewed negatively, but I love every one of them!  I meet so many other demographics on my adventures I like to think there’ll be something here for everyone.  Wherever you are in the world or in your life, come on in and I hope this blog inspires you to take a new adventure of your own.
